Let me be honest from the beginning, I think that there is a good reason why during the human evolution sweets were invented. So now and then I write down the recipes of things I would love to bake. And today I want to let you in my baking process because this is something I really have a passion for.
I should warn you, this is a very rich, moist, and absolutely luxurious chocolate cake recipe. If you are on diet or just hungry, I would offer you to stop reading and eat something. Even writing this recipe now makes my mouth full, so I will take a piece of it now, to ease the pressure a bit and of course to drool it all over my keyboard.
So here we go, you will need for this cake :
- pinch of cocos oil for coating the cake pan
- 450 grams all-purpose flour
- 650 grams granulated sugar
- 155 grams unsweetened cocoa powder
- 17 grams baking soda
- 8 grams baking powder
- 11 grams salt
- 4 large eggs
- 350 ml milk
- 350 ml warm water
- 115 ml vegetable oil
- 10 ml vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 200 degrees. I use cocos oil to butter the cake pan (personally I prefer it because it smells so good when baking). Mix together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a stand mixer using a low speed until combined. Add eggs, buttermilk, warm water, oil, and vanilla.
Beat on a medium speed until smooth. This should take just a couple of minutes. The baking mixture should take 1/3 of the baking form.
Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool on wire racks for 15 minutes and then turn out the cakes onto the racks and allow to cool completely.
Well done, you are amazing!
